Built in 2014 -15, the new three-field sports hall of Bertolt Brecht high school has two levels. The completely underground basement level features three courts for sports with equipment storage rooms, classrooms, changing rooms, showers and toilets. On the ground level, there are foyers opening onto the school grounds and to Thomaestraße as well as to the guest toilets, technical rooms, referee’s room, a storage room for smaller equipment as well as a room for trainer’s and sports association meetings. In addition, there are bleachers for up to 200 spectators. To reach the basement level, stairs and an elevator are available. The sports hall’s roof is slightly sloped. Overhead fixtures ensure optimal lighting. The sports facilities include a 100-meter track, a 260-meter round track, a court for handball, basketball or other games and a long jump facility.
Outside of normal use by the school, the sports hall is used by the following groups and associations:
